KATSEYE's 'Animal' Earns UK Official Charts Praise as Global Pop Momentum Grows

KATSEYE's rise has reached another turning point. The global girl group, created through the collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records, is no longer being viewed as an exciting newcomer. In the United Kingdom, the conversation has already shifted toward what comes next. That became clear on July 24 when the UK Official Charts published an in-depth feature titled "Why 'Animal' Makes KATSEYE the Next Pop Icon." Rather than offering a routine introduction tied to a release day, the publication examined the group's remarkable growth, commercial momentum, and long-term prospects. That kind of editorial spotlight is rare, especially for an act still building its catalogue, and it reflects the growing confidence that KATSEYE could become one of pop music's defining global names.

The feature pointed to a pattern that has become impossible to ignore. Every new release has pushed KATSEYE a little higher. Beginning with "Gnarly," the group steadily climbed with each comeback through "Gabriela," "INTERNET GIRL," and "PINKY UP." Instead of relying on one breakout viral moment, KATSEYE has built its audience step by step. The Official Charts also highlighted how collaboration tracks with LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT, alongside renewed interest in the group's earlier songs, have fuelled an explosive expansion of their fanbase. It is the kind of consistent upward curve that record labels dream about, and it suggests the group's appeal is spreading well beyond its original audience. Every release hits differently because each one arrives with a noticeably larger global following than the last.

Much of the current excitement centres on "Animal." The new single wasted no time making an impact, debuting inside Spotify Global's Daily Top Songs Top 10 immediately after release while continuing to post strong performances across US streaming charts. That success also lifted KATSEYE to a new career peak on the Spotify Global Artist Chart, breaking the group's own previous record. The numbers tell one story, but the wider reaction says even more. Industry observers are increasingly treating KATSEYE as a genuine international pop act rather than a project defined by one market. The group's multicultural identity has always been one of its greatest strengths, and it continues to resonate with listeners looking for artists who move comfortably across languages, genres, and borders.

Formed through the survival programme The Debut: Dream Academy, KATSEYE has balanced activities in the United States with regular promotions in South Korea, including appearances on Korean music programmes. That international approach has quickly translated into major recognition. Earlier this year, the group collected three trophies, including Best New Artist, at the 2026 American Music Awards. They also earned a nomination for the 68th Grammy Awards, another sign that the industry's biggest institutions are paying attention. Those milestones have arrived at remarkable speed, yet the group shows little sign of slowing down.

The next chapter is already on the horizon. KATSEYE will release their third EP, WILD, on August 14 before launching a large-scale world tour in September. The tour will take the group across 10 countries throughout North America and Europe, giving fans another opportunity to see one of pop's fastest-rising acts in person. If the momentum behind "Animal" is any indication, those performances could mark another leap forward. KATSEYE are no longer asking listeners to notice them. They already have the industry's attention, and now they are making sure it stays put.
